Energy Tax Credit for Consumers

Now through the end of 2010, the new U.S Energy Credit allows homeowners up to $1500 in federal savings for purchasing products that meet the new energy-efficiency requirements. Alside offers a full lineup of energy-saving windows, patio doors and siding insulation that lets you take advantage of this valuable incentive- earning a tax credit of up to 30% of the product cost, for a potential tax credit up to $1500 on their federal income tax.

To qualify for the credit, products must comply with energy-efficiency requirements and meet additional criteria outlined in the federal tax code.

WINDOWS
Purchase any window or patio door with a qualifying ClimaTech Insulated Glass Package. A qualifying insulated glass package will be any glass unit that enables the window or patio door to achieve the required U-factor and SHGC of 0.30 or lower.

SIDING INSULATION
Purchase insulation that is specifically or primarily designed to reduce heat loss or gain of a dwelling unit when installed. This drop-in type insulation will be applied behind the siding panel at the time of the siding insulation, and must be expected to last 5 years or have a 2 year warranty.

Requirements:

  1. Purchase and install qualifying products beginning February 17, 2009, through December 31, 2010, and meet all other criteria outlined in the federal tax code.

  2. Retain sales receipts and all NFRC, ENERGY STAR, and Manufacturer Certification labels and file with all of your other tax documents.

  3. Claim the tax credit associated with your qualifying purchase on your federal filing for the 2009 and the 2010 tax years.
